The end of the year is getting closer and closer. It’s always a peculiar time of the year, during which we often stop and think about what happened during the year we are leaving behind. Our mind goes to the good and the bad moments of the year, and most of all, we get ready to write a list of resolutions for next year. In 2017, I would like to… Travel more, spend more time with my friends and learn something new. These are just examples, but I am pretty sure your lists will include similar ideas. If there is one thing I promised myself I would like to do next year, starting in January, that is take more time for myself, and make more time for self-care. We are often so focused on what we are doing that we often forget to give ourselves some breathing space, and we don’t realize that it doesn’t have to be the end of the year for us to stop for a second, and put everything that happens to us in the right perspective. A few minutes a day would already be enough. I thought that meditation could just be what I need to start in 2017, so maybe I could add that to my list of resolutions for next year. This is one of Emma Watson’s favorite apps, and that must count for something. You start with Take10, a program that teaches you to take 10 minutes of your day to practice meditation at some point of the day. After that, you can subscribe to their service and select the field you are most interested in. Headspace will help you clean out your mind and get clarity on anything related to relationships, work or health. And it will help you stay motivated with very cute reminders!

And finally, the one app that might even work for a stressed out New Yorker.
